Verity Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs the use of Verity by parents, legal guardians, children, and any other authorized users.
This Policy supplements and forms part of the Verity Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Children's Privacy (COPPA) Addendum, and Parent Consent Agreement.
By accessing or using Verity, you agree to comply with this Acceptable Use Policy.
1. Purpose
Verity is an educational platform designed to help students in grades 3-8 strengthen reading comprehension, critical reasoning, and written communication skills.
This Policy exists to:
- Protect children using the platform
- Maintain a safe educational environment
- Protect Verity's systems and content
- Ensure fair and appropriate use of the Service
2. Who This Policy Applies To
This Policy applies to:
- Parents
- Legal guardians
- Children using Verity
- Authorized account users
- Anyone accessing Verity's website, applications, or services
Parents are responsible for ensuring their children comply with this Policy.
3. Educational Use Only

Users may use Verity to:
- Complete literacy exercises

Users may not use Verity for purposes unrelated to literacy education.

- Personal email addresses
- Passwords

- Information that could reasonably identify another child
Parents should remind children not to include personal information in writing submissions.
5. Prohibited Content
Users may not submit, upload, store, or transmit content that:

- Is defamatory
- Is threatening
- Is harassing
- Is abusive
- Is hateful
- Promotes violence
- Promotes discrimination
- Contains pornography
- Contains sexually explicit material
- Exploits or endangers children
- Encourages self-harm
- Encourages criminal activity
- Violates intellectual property rights
Verity may remove content that violates this Policy.
6. Academic Integrity
Verity is designed to help children develop independent reading and writing skills.
Users may not use Verity to:
- Generate school assignments for submission as their own work
- Complete assessments dishonestly
- Circumvent educational exercises
- Manipulate literacy scores
- Artificially inflate progress metrics
Parents are encouraged to support honest participation.
7. AI Misuse
Users may not attempt to:
- Manipulate AI systems
- Bypass platform safeguards
- Extract system prompts
- Discover proprietary prompts
- Reverse engineer AI workflows
- Generate harmful content
- Use Verity to test malicious prompts
Verity may restrict accounts engaged in such activities.
8. Account Security
Users must:
- Keep login credentials confidential
- Use secure passwords
- Protect account access
- Notify Verity of unauthorized access
Users may not:
- Share accounts
- Sell accounts
- Transfer accounts
- Permit unauthorized access
Parents remain responsible for activity occurring under their accounts.
9. Platform Abuse
Users may not:
- Interfere with platform operations
- Disrupt services
- Circumvent security measures
- Access unauthorized systems
- Probe vulnerabilities
- Launch denial-of-service attacks
- Upload malicious software
- Attempt unauthorized data access
Any attempt to compromise Verity's systems may result in immediate termination and possible legal action.
10. Scraping and Automated Access
Users may not:
- Scrape platform content
- Harvest educational content
- Download exercise libraries in bulk
- Copy assessment frameworks
- Use bots to access the Service
- Use automated tools without authorization
This restriction applies to both manual and automated extraction methods.
11. Intellectual Property Protection
Users may not:
- Reproduce Verity content
- Redistribute exercises
- Copy educational frameworks
- Republish assessments
- Create competing products using Verity content
- Reverse engineer proprietary systems
All Verity intellectual property remains protected by applicable law.
12. Fair Use of Educational Features
Parents and children should engage with exercises honestly and in good faith.
Users may not:
- Repeatedly manipulate calibration assessments
- Create multiple accounts to influence results
- Intentionally provide misleading responses
- Abuse free trials or promotional offers
Verity may investigate unusual activity.
13. Monitoring and Enforcement
Verity may monitor platform activity to:
- Maintain safety
- Detect abuse
- Investigate violations
- Protect children
- Protect platform integrity
Monitoring is conducted in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
14. Reporting Violations
Users who become aware of violations may report them to:

15. Consequences of Violations
Violations may result in:
- Content removal
- Warnings
- Temporary restrictions

- Account termination

16. Changes to This Policy
