Verity Subscription & Refund Policy

This Subscription & Refund Policy explains how subscriptions, billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds work for Verity.

This Policy forms part of the Verity Terms of Service.

By purchasing a subscription, you agree to this Policy.

1. Subscription Services

Verity offers subscription-based access to literacy development tools and educational content.

Subscription features may include:

  • Personalized reading exercises
  • Personalized writing exercises
  • Literacy calibration assessments
  • Progress tracking
  • Reading proficiency analysis
  • Writing proficiency analysis
  • AI-generated educational feedback
  • Parent progress dashboards

Features may vary depending on the subscription plan selected.

2. Subscription Plans

Verity may offer:

  • Monthly subscriptions
  • Annual subscriptions
  • Promotional subscriptions
  • Trial subscriptions
  • Special pricing offers

Current pricing is displayed at checkout before purchase.

Verity reserves the right to modify pricing for future billing periods.

Price changes will not affect billing periods that have already been paid.

3. Billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance.

Depending on your selected plan, billing may occur:

  • Monthly
  • Annually
  • At another disclosed interval

Payments are processed through Stripe or another authorized payment processor.

Verity does not store complete credit card information.

4. Automatic Renewal

Unless canceled, subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period.

By purchasing a subscription, you authorize Verity and its payment processors to automatically charge the payment method on file for future renewal periods.

Renewal charges will occur using the pricing in effect at the time of renewal unless otherwise disclosed.

5. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.

Cancellation will:

  • Stop future renewals
  • Prevent future subscription charges

Cancellation does not immediately terminate access.

Your subscription remains active until the end of the current paid billing period.

No additional charges will occur after cancellation unless you choose to re-subscribe.

6. Free Trials

Verity may occasionally offer free trials.

Unless otherwise disclosed:

  • A valid payment method may be required.
  • The subscription automatically converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period.
  • Billing begins automatically unless canceled before the trial expires.

Trial eligibility may be limited to new customers.

Verity reserves the right to modify or discontinue trial offers at any time.

7. Refund Policy

Because Verity provides immediate access to digital educational services, subscription fees are generally non-refundable.

Except where required by applicable law, Verity does not provide refunds for:

  • Partial billing periods
  • Unused subscription time
  • Failure to use the Service
  • Educational outcomes
  • Dissatisfaction with AI-generated feedback
  • Missed cancellation deadlines

8. Exceptional Refund Requests

Verity may, at its sole discretion, issue refunds in situations such as:

  • Duplicate charges
  • Billing errors
  • Technical issues preventing access for a substantial period
  • Unauthorized purchases verified by Verity

Issuing a refund in one situation does not create an obligation to issue refunds in future situations.

9. Consumer Protection Rights

Nothing in this Policy limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.

Where local laws require refunds or cancellation rights, Verity will comply with those laws.

10. Failed Payments

If a payment cannot be processed:

  • Subscription access may be suspended.
  • Renewal may be retried automatically.
  • Account access may be limited until payment is successfully processed.

Verity reserves the right to terminate subscriptions that remain unpaid.

11. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If a chargeback or payment dispute is initiated:

  • Subscription access may be suspended.
  • Account privileges may be restricted.
  • Verity may investigate the dispute.

Parents are encouraged to contact Verity before initiating a chargeback so billing concerns can be resolved quickly.

12. Promotional Pricing

Promotional pricing, discounts, and introductory offers:

  • May be time-limited
  • May apply only to new subscribers
  • May expire automatically

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, renewals occur at the standard subscription price in effect at the time of renewal.

13. Subscription Changes

Verity may modify:

  • Subscription plans
  • Pricing
  • Features
  • Billing structures

Changes will not affect active prepaid periods.

Reasonable notice will be provided before material billing changes take effect.

14. Account Deletion and Subscriptions

Deleting a child profile does not automatically cancel a subscription.

Deleting a parent account may result in termination of subscription access.

Parents remain responsible for canceling active subscriptions through their account settings.
